CBM1 Boundary Microphone

Product code: CBM1

The Gold Line CBM1 offers all the benefits of boundary-type microphones - receipt of direct and reflected paths simultaneously and in phase, plus better ambient pickup - and utilises an omni-directional flat response electret microphone. Built into a small, strong aluminium case and powered by an internal battery, the CBM1 also has a phantom power facility, and can be used successfully in very high SPLs to provide low-distortion results at up to 150dB enabling mounting in close proximity to percussion and brass sections, for example.

Designed for use in recording studios, broadcast environments and in sound reinforcement, the unobtrusive CBM1 lends itself to solving problems of microphone placement in awkward situations. In the theatre and for television drama, multiple boundary microphones can be mounted along the front edge of a stage, or concealed on or amongst furniture. It can be located under pianos, on the floor, or on lecterns, and can be easily kept out of the audience’s, or camera’s,line of sight.
Useful for recording dialogue in vehicle interiors and other restricted-space sets, the CBM1 also has applications in houses of worship – whether located by an altar or pulpit, or deployed in a choir loft. The CBM1’s operational flexibility can bring additional freedom of movement to musicians, performers, actors and presenters, and greater clarity to the end result.
