New Build Projects
Many new buildings are intended for use with amplified sound as well as natural acoustics. Our experience is particularly relevant in offering design advice so that the two can integrate in a sympathetic way.
Interaction is often a requirement. Musicians need to hear each other to achieve a memorable performance; responses from the audience need to be understood by the performers.

We have a wide knowledge of available materials and we will assist the decision makers in choosing and incorporating the most suitable surfaces into their designs. We want to avoid repeating the acoustic pitfalls of past buildings

A recent project was Cathedral House, Huddersfield where RK Sound Engineering were contracted to advise on the acoustic treatment of the main auditorium.

Existing Buildings

Where an existing building has acoustic problems we like to take a scientific approach and establish the existing acoustic performance. This requires an acoustic survey to establish the facts.

We then present a report detailing the facts. This gives everyone a clear basis from which to offer an improved acoustic and a bench mark against which to measure any improvements. We would suggest the priorities that need addressing and offer a budgetary cost to any proposed changes.
