A general-purpose test set, with tone generator and level meter, for conducting dBu, frequency and impedance measurements across the full audio bandwidth.
The Gold Line TS2 is a tough, general-purpose test-bench or field-service companion. Built into a high-impact ABS case, it incorporates a low-distortion oscillator, with frequency counter, dB meter and impedance meter. Test measurements are shown on the unit’s 4-digit, 7-segment LED display, while front panel ¼” TRS jacks offer convenient connection.
Low Distortion Oscillator
A current controlled, state-variable true sine-wave oscillator, with low-order, inaudible distortion components – typically 0.1% 2nd-order and 0.05% 3rd-order. This allows listening tests that avoid the undesirable, audible side effects of a function generator. The oscillator enables sweeps from 20Hz - 20kHz to be made within a single range, with no amplitude variations over the entire sweep.
Integral dB Meter
A wideband, average-responding ac voltmeter that converts the output to dB for display, with the direct readings greatly simplifying alignment procedures. The meter range is from -50dBu to +24dBu (ref: 0.775V), with a rear-panel adjustment to set the zero reference from -10dB to +8dB.
Impedance Meter
Measuring complex impedance in Ohms, this facility allows users to set up and validate studio equipment, to measure components, and to test loudspeakers and enclosures. It can also be used to measure and validate distributed loudspeaker systems, and represents a useful resource for R&D departments. Two ranges provide measurement across 0 - 999 and 0 - 9999 Ohms, with a ±5% accuracy.
